Holy Week and Easter 2015

The People of the Church of the Redeemer welcome you to join us!

Redeemer is a Christian church in the Episcopal tradition. We are a part of the Diocese of Ohio which is part of The Episcopal Church which is part of the worldwide Anglican Communion.

We invite you to  walk with Jesus through Holy Week and Easter. A schedule of services is below. We are a caring, welcoming group of Christians: some young, some older; some married, some single; some long time members, some very new. What we share is a commitment to loving God, loving our neighbors, and changing the world. You are invited to join us for worship any Sunday at 8 and 10 a.m. when we celebrate the Holy Eucharist (also called communion or mass). If you want to see how we serve our neighbors, come to our Community Hot Meal on the 3rd and 5th Thursdays of the month from 5-7 p.m. or help with First Lutheran Church's food pantry housed at Redeemer on the 2nd Thursday of the month from 10-11:30 a.m.

Faithfully,

The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer

Maundy Thursday:  Holy Eucharist - Thursday, April 2 at 7 p.m.

This service which we share with First Lutheran for the first time this year is a remembrance of the Last Supper and includes foot washing. It concludes with the Stripping of the Altar in preparation for Good Friday. The Rev. Adrienne Lloyd will be preaching.

Good Friday: Solemn Liturgy  - Friday, April 3 at Noon & 7 p.m.

The Noon service will be the Prayer Book liturgy including the reading of John's Passion Gospel, sermon, and distribution of Holy Communion. The offering at Noon is for the work of the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem. The Rev. Mary Carson will be the preacher. The 7 p.m. service includes the singing of the Passion Gospel of John and the Solemn Reproaches.

Easter Vigil: Saturday, April 4 at 8 p.m.

This ancient service is like Christmas Eve - for Easter! We light a new fire, sing by candlelight, tell the ancient stories of God's salvation, have baptisms, ring bells, and celebrate the first communion of Easter. Bring bells!

Easter Sunday: Sunday, April 5 at 8 and 10 a.m.

Our 8:00 celebration of the Resurrection of Christ will be shared with members of First Lutheran Church. The 10:00 service will feature special music by Redeemer's Choir. Bring bells!
